Sorry to say I don't personally agree with this approach. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...less-baby.html |

Not an original idea, a Swedish couple did it years ago. Little Pop should be about 5 now.

It's an abuse.
The baby has a right to gender identity.
The parents are criminals.

Well, if you're going to screw your kids over to get yourself noticed, then you might as well start early.

I wonder if they would allow him/her to blacken up for fancy dress though!

And what if it doesn't want to be a boy or a girl.
When I was young, I wanted to be a bird. Perhaps my parents should have let me live in a tree as a tribute to freedom and choice in place of limitation.

The main thing though is it is a girl or a boy! Nothing will change that unless of course they pt for a sex change op! How bizarre! Poor kids!

Ps I'm sure you'll feel better now that you've "come out."
Go on, spread your wings!

How is this PC?
The parents are nut cases that should have their kids removed from their care!

Tom | | | | | I was thinking the same thing.
Is this not bordering on psychological and emotional abuse?
It's already difficult to grow up with a sexual identity that maybe different from the quote norm. To suppress a child's gender for .... for what end exactly? ... seems to me to be abusive.

I believe in giving kids the freedom to dress up in anyway they fancy in my playgroup. I've had many a father come to collect his 3 year old son and be devastated that they're dressed in a princess outfit. The boy has always known he is a boy though.
I've noticed that a lot of boys will choose things that they have experienced from their home environment, mostly it's mums or grandma's who are at home so they choose domestic things to role play.
It doesn't take long before the fireman's, builder's and policeman's hats take over from the princess outfits. Give them the freedom to find themselves and it'll sort it's self out in the wash. Without positive male and female models it could become a bit more difficult.
