What sort of jobs offer international prospects?

So, here's one for you: as I know that many people here on EF got their CH jobs through an international company.

My Swiss partner is an electrician. He is fed up of his job and wants to re-train - even going to University. We're both keen on leaving Switzerland (in fact we've applied for and will soon get-fingers crossed- a permanent Australian visa) and he would like to have a job with international opportunities (if we could pick a continent it would be Asia). Any ideas of what sorts of carreers would fit the above-description?

I'd love to pick your brains about this one as he is a bit lost.

Thanks!

I would think IT is the best shot for him coming from technical background, though it would take at least 3 to 5 years to study, get the required experience and be competitive on the international level.

Freelance translator, if he has enough languages (two could be enough!) Do get some training though.

Here's a website which might give you some ideas about jobs you can move around with. http://locationindependent.com (no it's not mine, but I'd love to do what they're doing, and intend to do so one day!)

banks and (re)insurance companies, but they are way too boring.

Nursing is probably your best bet. Can work most places.
