What a funny experience - I gave no official intro ... and, predictably I now know, received some 'helpful' replies!!

I still remember the fear when I wrote this: About to move to Zurich
I had never heard of a 'forum' or anything like this before.
...... I also can't believe it's been nearly 2 years since I joined the EF
This thread is a good reminder to go easy on the newbies.

Mine was a bit... geekish
I still am a geek though (if not more of), over 3 years and nothing has changed. |

| | Re: Bit of fun, what was your 1st ever post? Stumbled here by chance. | Quote: | | | | Having been living in the Fribourg area for the last 10 yrs., I only chanced upon this forum yesterday - amazing, eh? Clicked on a link on another Swiss/Brit. site, and here I am.
Up until now, I've only semi-regularly posted on one IT related forum -- but that's become too boring, now; so this was a timely find.
I'm British born and bred, married to a Swiss Miss, whose job brought her back here in 2000, where we've resided ever since.
She's the breadwinner, while I bring up the dog (more cooking next time!), and walk the kids. So at varying times in the day I sometimes have the opportunity to practice my typppping sillks.
I once learnt that: "You don't get a second chance, to create a first impression" ...... ah well, never mind | | | | | Wrong! ...... I thought it was a serious forum.

Hmmm mine was Symbols of Social Status, this was only part 1 (Cars) as I was thinking of going through a few of these and never got around to write something about the others.... Seemed to be a popular topic judging by the number of views...

I remember just doing an intro - it was exactly 4 years ago as I had just got out of hospital and was happy to have EF to keep me occupied!!
I think I then went on about cockroaches in my old flat |

This was my first ever Forum. I found it by Googling a guy, who had done the dirty on a guy I knew and finally got run out of town! I was rather cryptic in the thread and got lambasted big time. Anyway i hung around and Mark and Lob gave me an educational nudge. The rest is history. |

A post on a thread where a girl looked for a good yoga vids as she couldn't attend her classes anymore. It was my first week in CH, everything was horrible and I also missed my yoga gym badly. Was probably sobbing in front of the computer screen adding another item on the long list of things that I initially missed from home.
Btw, haven't been able to find a decent yoga gym in 1.5 years... anyone?
