I enjoyed my rather brief stay but will be back in early September for a longer stay, probably for 5 days this time. I also liked the area as it is very convenient to get around - there is a
railway station just about 50 metres away to explore other cities.
At the Synagogue, bike rentals are cheap, HUF2K ( or HUF500 cheaper through my host ) from Zed Bikes for half a day, almost double elsewhere. Unfortunately, most museums are closed on Mondays I discovered.
Some tours to add to the list:
Secret Tour -
www.rockhoppers.hu
Caving Tour - interesting but am unsure if I am fit for it
The Reagan statue was a very recent addition I was told. The person who served me at that bar was very friendly, and although it was a busy day, he was patient enough with me ( explaining several items on the menu ) and did not mind me taking pictures ( I left a decent tip in the kitty ).
I learnt a lot about the 1848, 1956 and much recent events.
