Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, Tom Robins
The most bodacious female character ever. Sissy quite simply rocks.

Lou, Zurich | | | | | Nice one, Lou. I almost chose Sissy as my example. Tom Robbins can reallly write women characters. Have you read Half Asleep in Frog Pyjamas? The asparagus line has stayed with me.
Mike, are you obliquely referring to The Hound of the Baskervilles or are you being deliberately eclectic? (I've always found it hard to read the expression on a grapefruit - the most inscrutable of fruits).

Tom Robbins is just an amazing author, I love his books and his female characters are always strong & interesting. I am about 1/2 way through Half Asleep. | Quote: | | | | | Nice one, Lou. (Baskervilles is, quite frankly, a bore)
