| | Facebook - hide posts?
Hi - can anyone advise here. I try to keep my FB free of too much clutter, so regularly 'hide posts'. Most of the time, it works as long as I click on 'Home' afterwards. But sometimes some posts just will not 'go'. Why? And what do I do to get rid once read? Thanks.

Sometimes the ones I "hide" pop up again straight away, sometimes a day or more later. I would also like to know how to make them disappear for ever. Thanks for asking the question Odile.

to the right of the post if you hoover over it there will be an X appearing. click it and it will ask if you want to remove the post.
That removes them forever on mine..... .
do this on your own wall, not the homepage. sometimes they will stay on the HP for a bit and then get removed later

You should be able to choose between hiding all posts from someone or just hiding the posts from someone that come from a specific application (aka Farmville).
If you want to hide all posts from someone...you can always unfriend them and the annoying clutter disappears forever!

If you click to the right of the post, you'll see the x. It tells you, you can hide or remove post.

Yes, I've done that. The problem is that it does not always work - sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Particular problems is with photos posted on somebody's side and just 'shared'. I don't want to disable these people- just 'hide' some posts when I've read them and or not, commented.

Or disappear for a day, then come back. |

I have found the same problem from time to time. It seems that Facebook just cannot keep up with all the stuff going on.
As you said, clicking on Home after deleting posts usually works. I find that it helps to leave it a while between deleting and clicking Home.

Grrrr, it drives me nuts. I don't want to upset the friend who keeps posting and sharing lots of individual photos every day- which glogs up all the page and annoys my daughters- but I might have to if I can't 'hide' them.

Who knew we had so many people on Facebook?
It seems to be a glitch for me. Sometimes I try to hide or remove posts from my wall and it won't go anywhere. But most of the time it works just fine.
Just because I "Like" you doesn't mean you have to clutter up my wall with your drivel. |
