Re: Why I feel old today

Finding out that Terminator 2 was released exactly 20 years ago hit me hard.

All of that is still young.

I recently found an article about myself in the Nostalgia section of a local paper. It was a reprint of an article from 1975

p.s. I got my driving licence in 1971

DP... I can relate... I first got my drivers license in 1972.

AND... I still have all my original parts ( some of which I keep in a jar by the door )

I can beat that by a looooooong way.
Not going to admit by how much though. That would be too much of a revelation.
AND I've still got my own teeth, fangs even!
The odd nut and bolt holding limbs together and my face falling off, but that's another story.

I had one of those as well. It cost nearly £300 and that was close to 30 years ago!

That's is one sweet looking car.

You guys had the great fortune of being right-smack-dab in the middle of the muscle car era. And now, they end up costing everything and more.

Re: Why I feel old today

I needed to get some photos printed - so I went to the Manor Kundendienst which is where I had it done last time (errr - 8 years ago?)

When I told the young lady what I wanted, she showed me the colour photocopier with card reader. I said, no, I need them printed from negatives.

I held up the negatives and her eyes got big.

She says: "Hold on, I'll have to call the Multimedia department".

On the phone, she says to someone: "I have a gentleman here with some - sorry, what did you say they were?"

"Negatives."

"...Ne-ga-tives photos. - OK, I'll tell him to go down to you."

I didn't bother.

Re: Why I feel old today

When I started motoring, life was still in black and white!

A couple of motorbikes and a beaten up old van later, this was my first 'real' car

Me, 1974, and only because I was a bit slow at getting it earlier.

Sold my 'latest' car before coming over here last year. Not my first, but I did have it since new. It was 29.5 years old! (A sad day).

Re: Why I feel old today

And by the way, isn't it good that we ARE 'old'?

Some people will never get to be old....
