M-W Vocabulary Test

Ok, this is a language-related thing but not for the Language Corner according to its rules:

Some EFers might be interested in taking this vocabulary test at Merriam-Webster. It asks ten questions that change every time you do a run, although, after a few runs, some of them may reappear. Some definitions may be a bit fuzzy, but hey, it's fun, and I guess even native English speakers can learn a bit. I average around 3800 points, which I think is not bad for a guy with English as fifth language. How about you?

I scored 3260. Didn't get any wrong, but obviously need to speed up.
Arthritic fingers are my excuse. It has absolutely nothing to do with the double-brandy

uhhh? Didn't even see that one ... maybe the test changes randomly. However, I cannot divulge my score, for fear of embarrassing the rest of you

Did better many times. I said average.

Just a little hint: If you click any answer, just a s quickly as possible, even if totally wrong, you may still score 2200.

Nicola: Yes, it's a random thing.

Re: M-W Vocabulary Test

With English as my first (read "only") language, I really should've done a lot better.

Who uses those fancy pants words anyway

*back to school for me*

2440

failed for "morbid", cause did not know what "gruesome" means

failed "espouse". should have answered "embrace"...makes sense after seeing link with the french word "Úpouse"

like that kind of games

PS: those who have high scores...did you select the right age groupe ?
