| | Smokers' odor
Just a rant
A woman with a big poofy ponytail just got on one of the older trams and sat down in front of me, slapping my face with her ponytail. Maybe if I was straight I'd be turned on.
Instead it was utterly disgusting and smelled as if she just got done smoking a pack of cigarettes. To keep from puking I had to get up and switch to a different seat.

I've done the accidental pony-tail swish (sorry! ) but I smell lovely.
That "just had a cig" smell of someone plonking themselves next to you on a tram or train is quite breathtakingly disgusting. Do cigarettes really taste of burnt rubber or is that just the by-product smell?
It's difficult to faze me in most situations with smells or other yucky stuff but that "freshly-cigaretted" pong is on a whole different level.

not smoke but I was walking back from lunch today behind some woman who must have bathed in eau de toilette ... and a nasty one at that.
.
I was already a good 2meters behind her but the stench was so bad I had to cross the street.
whats up with women who do that ?

Personal taste in stench varies. What is stinky to you might be mood enhancing to her, maybe it simply turns her on...or sumfin.
Maybe she is trying to numb the smell of fellow passangers.
(I dislike the strong colognes too, by the way, but only in summer)

whats up with women who do that ? | | | | | They read too many women's magazines.
And want to cover up the smell of their smoking after reading threads such as this.
Personally, I much prefer the smoke-smell.
Think I'll go home and smoke a baby lamb.

| | | | | ok yes personal tastes varies... but as stated I was a good 2 meters behind her.. she must have had a 2meter squared envelope of smellie around her.

If I can choose, though, the best smell is clean laundry smell (or, sausage).

I do agree that there are always some questionable scents on public transit, but again, it's public transit and you might/will have to encouter all denominations of the public. If it's too uncomfortable to bear, take a car or a taxi.
