You are much closer to what I heard. Some Geneva Hedge Fund managers who have substantial money invsted in Oil are planning to artificially swing the market in their favour by orchestrating something in Middle East, this week or next week. (Geneva based Hedge Fund managers of Israeli origin to be precise).
'orchestrating something'? Do you mean terrorist attack or something like that (since the previous comment was about 9/11...)? I'm about to go on holiday sooo....

To reassure you pops , if we re speculating about it on this forum, I suspect the intelligence services are on the ball, so you will be fine.

Errr no... I was talking more in terms of market movements and finance. OPEC had initially agreed to increase supply of oil to meet the global demand and keep prices low, but then went back on their decision except Saudis.

Then EU and US released reserves to keep prices low, which only brought down the prices for few days and oil started to edge upwards after that. Now.. its kinda uncertain which way its going to swing with some big investors stuck in with their monies as oil was expected to keep going up, due to war in Libya and lot of them had bought Oil Futures in such expectations.

When something is out in public domain, it is already a bit late to make money out of it but what would these people know.

Some large sums of money in the UK printed media business was expected to be moving into the visual media industry, but has now disappeared into thin air, or been stolen by a gnarled old fox.

One source said within next 24-48 hours other said within next 2 weeks.
Honestly, that's not a secret: The US are currently in the worst financial **** ever - and if they do not agree to raise the debt, the treasury said it's out of cash by August 2nd. They cannot wait tille then to decide what to do, so yes: Within the next two weeks, even fairly likely within the next two days will the US make a financial decision that will shake up the entire global eonomy - no matter what they decide... the impact will be huge.

Now you only have to decide if you are a pessimist and buy gold (which is already peaking, so a bit late but more likely) or an optimist and go into stocks (which are currently really low... which means that we don't have that many optimists out there...).

oh yes, i have it on good authority that something bad is on the way and it will happen soon!
My mate who's cousin in law twice removed hangs out with a guy who might be a trainee Billderberger says they are planning something. I recommend everybody to wear their tin foil hats at all times from now on.

All this finance lark is above my head, but this looks interesting http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/8ce694a6-a...#axzz1S4PLjnEq :

The US may lose its triple A credit rating, after Moody’s warned that the political deadlock over raising the country’s debt ceiling could lead to a downgrade.
Moody’s on Wednesday placed the US rating on watch for a possible downgrade, pending a decision in Washington on raising the $14.300bn debt ceiling. Failure to do so by August 2 could result in the US Treasury missing a debt payment.

...
Last month, analysts at S&P Valuation and Risk Strategies, a research team separate from the agency, estimated that investors in the US government bond market could face losses of up to $100bn if the largest economy loses its triple A rating.

Re: Something big in the making?!

Financial Armageddon is upon us! We're on the brink of a complete financial melt down!

Nothing you can do... when everyone has zero trust in the financial markets, let the fed pump some more dough! With QE99! It won't help, $h!7 will hit the fan and then noone will be safe! Looting everywhere, the rich won't be safe and the poor will rise, they won't play ball anymore, they will just go out there and just take what they can get and destroy what they can't have!
