| | Being school loans free! [or how I spent my returned rent deposit]
Today is a big day for me.
I am officially school loans free! Thanks to Switzerland's rental deposit system.
We had this huge amount of money sleeping in an account as a deposit for our apartment. We did the hand over and we got all our money back. So we decided to clear our debts and my school loans was on top of the list!
I feel like a weight as been lift off my shoulder! The loans was totally worthed but it was all the time in the back of my mind.... Thinking that I would have to pay it for the next 10 years.
Switzerland is expensive but we can't complain too much because for us, it really gave us opportunity to clear loans and invest money for the futur.
It feels good,
Thanks for listening, I needed to share.
Nil

Shopping trip for something frivolous tomorrow, then?
EDIT - Actually, that's what I would do...

Nil | | | | | Nice.
I know exactly what you mean.
Got our rental deposit back a week or so ago and it helped with some major expenses.
Having money tied up like this sometimes works in your favor when it becomes available again.

Was talking about the deposit on your CH flat Nil - you must have made a tidy profit on re-conversion, no? Enough to buy a few pairs of shoes and a couple of dresses and handbags?

Do you not need to put a deposit on your new flat?
