Re: Bygones

Sometimes, Leni, people suffer from obscure "syndromes" where they actually can`t help themselves.
My own Mom, until she was into her 80`s was not diagnosed as "manic depressive", until she made the nursing home nurses insane with her behaviour .... after alienating her own family! Only then, being put on medication, did she become "normal".

So, maybe, your own gran had her own demons to conquer and did not intentionally harm her own family ... one will never know now ...... But your sentiments and feelings should, as others here have said, guide you.

"Tis only the things you did not do, that you regret" as some wise person once wrote somewhere...........

Re: Bygones

My personal heartfelt opinion would be to say to you Leni:
- spend time with the living
you'll never regret the love given.

Re: Bygones

Smoky - it is interesting that you mention this.
My Grandmother was taking Valium and I always thought that she was suffering from some kind of condition which influenced her behaviour.
And she herself had a difficult childhood - which of course, does not condone how she treated my Mum.

Sky - thank you for those words.
