| | What's "Right" About America?
Spinning off from the "Why Do People Hate the UK?", someone mentioned that American expats don't see the "right" in America. (and I'm guessing they were referring to the good qualities, not to the Republican party).
So, on that note: What is "good" or "right" about the USA? Here's my short list:
Driving at 16
Freedom to train for whichever profession you choose
"I Love Lucy" reruns
Vast acres of (somewhat) prinstine wilderness
Cultural Diversity and Regional Diversity
Any others?

Something that's often forgotten: giving the world cheap, easily available technology for simple everyday things such as laptops or PCs. Yes we might have these things without the US but it may have taken longer :-)
Oh, and Muscle cars

That feeling you get when you´re surrounded by strangers but you´re all in the same situation waiting for MBTA that will never show up ("we´re all in this together")

It remains a land where everything is possible.
The American dream is still a reality.. a self made man can make it.
Spoke with many people who felt 'American' after a relatively short time there.

I admire the massive movement of local breweries there, Portland, Seattle, San Diego, too many to name, influenced from the great beers of Germany, Britain and Belgium.
What we miss is the positive forward thinking, no matter the circumstance. The society there moves forward at a great pace. People here think I am weird because of my outlook and influence from spending many a great year there.
