Fairy Tale pictures

I could wibble on for six paragraphs, or I could just give you the link.

So here it is.

Gorgeous, or what?

Spooky?

If it's spooky you want, google 'erdstall'.

Well the pictures are beautiful but a tad melancholic...

Re: Fairy Tale pictures

Take a look at the work of Dulac , or Arthur Rackham. If you want books then consider the "Rainbow" series of Fairy tales by Andrew Lang (currently in print by Folio Editions). I also recommend Calla Editions for beautiful books and plates.

Wow, they are beautiful! I would have loved to have seen those as a child.. They are so full of little details that would have made my imagination go wild!

I know these illustrations. They are really really beautiful. I still read fairy tales...
This guy also designs amazing wallpapers.

Re: Fairy Tale pictures

Those are gorgeous! Such intricate detail... and something very nostalgic and innocent about them.

For whatever reason, they remind me a bit of two of my very favorite artists/paintings:

Edward Robert Hughes' "Night with her Train of Stars"

and

Yoshitaka Amano's "Iris"
