We had a neighbour opposite us in the UK whose kid would play football against the garage door for hours every Saturday and Sunday morning - starting about 7am. Worse than Chinese torture, and our next door neighbour would get so angry. He tried to talk to the parents many a time but was just ignored. It caused a lot of tension - this loud 'bang every few seconds against the metal garage door was unbearable= this lasted for about 10 years until he was sent to boarding school
And of course Church bells can be a lot louder and more frequent in the UK - as we well know from living next to a Church both here ad there.
