The funny word of the day and every day has got to be 'Schwamendingen'!

Re: Funny word of the day

"Schlieren" - impossible to say and not sound drunk.
"Edifice" - innocuous word for large building but sounds like someone having some kind of angry, pissed off episode.
"Fisticuffs" - pretentious toffs squaring up for a slapping/hair-pulling/impotent fight.

Hey--watch that----I wouldn't have the opportunity to moonlight over here if I wasn't a black belt at a young age!

Re: Funny word of the day

картинки...my 1st Russian word. And that's like, whoooot, more than 20yrs ago, ugh.

And then 1st one in German, lochkreissäge.

Both are pretty useless but still make me laugh.

The Gemeinde name Bubikon always has me in stitches.
Otherwise I am amused by practically anything in Spanish: they are invariably cute.

Quaffing is the only way to drink! Also, when quaffing, it is mandatory to have at least 15% spillage ...

daft, knackered and gobsmacked .... and scrummy !!
....just delightful with the right accent
