Another Ouch!

Another ouch, jeez I this year I seem to be quite often at the wrong place at the wrong time, and every time I end up limping and licking my dented ego.
It is said that cyclist do not kill, they get killed, well chalk one up to the cyclists, this morning I was reminded how the food-chain works, four wheels then two wheels then two wheels with a pedal then pedestrians.
Morning, still dark, Slammer not yet coffinated decided to cross the road to the motor.
Too lazy to jog half a mile to the yellow stripes and with the car on the other side of the road and in front of me I sallied forth, I could see the road in both directions, did the look to the left, look to the right and look to the left again, no traffic, empty, I get to the middle of the road and WHAMMMMMO I have a cyclist hanging between my Arschbacken.
For him is was like riding full tilt into a bouncy castle and he flew head over tit into the green stuff, to my annoyance I impacted the asphalt spraining my ankle.
Out of the bushes I could hear him calling me every silly bugger under the sun, injecting the word “polizei” at intervals.
I don´t like that so I told him to fornicate off and carried on over the road, only to have him bounce after me.
Ok! So I stopped, he wanted my Ausweis, that I do not show to every Tom, Dick and Harry, so we waited for the police.
You know you have lost when they greet each other by name, turns out this bugger was a cop on his way to work.
Luckily, apart from my afore mentioned ego nobody was hurt and I did not even get lectured by the Police about not using the pedestrian crossing thoughtfully painted by the Gemeinde. The worst damage was to the guys bike, did you know that there are 6000 Chuff wire donkeys wheeling around out there?
WELL I DO NOW!

I am guessing from now on you will. But even then, one is still not safe, but at least not in the wrong.

A few weeks ago I was at a crossing with the dogs and a truck almost hit us. Just ahead were the police issuing a ticket to someone for speeding. The police heard the guy's brakes and pulled him over for a vehicle check.

If there was a light or an underpass I would use it over these crossings. They are dangerous and I would have thought with 3 dogs I was easy to spot.
