| | Are you a true Brit? UK Citizenship Test
I just took the UK citizenship test (courtesy of MSN) and I received a score of 9 out of 20, therefore I guess I am not one.
Some of the questions were unusual and some I guess I should have known, such as the year women were given their rights to divorce.
Well... have a go and see if you would be allowed to become a citizen of the UK. http://quiz.uk.msn.com/WidepageUKnew...tizenship-test

That's an ENGLAND citizenship test - some of the questions were ambiguous and some of the answers were just plain wrong for those of us north of the border. |

But it doesn't actually tell you which you get right or wrong... It also has this strange statement "The end score is calculated based on your answers and others. This way you can see if you're smarter". And what the heck does it matter if women could divorce from 1857 or 1875....garbage...

If the test has been designed to reduce the number of people gaining citizenship it may well work. If Brits only get around 50% when the pass required is 75%, what hope is there for anyone else?

Only 50% for me, and I'm also a Brit. Most of that score was stabbing in the dark as well.

16/20 - which just means my guessing was a bit more lucky.
Apart from the divorce Q., which I got wrong, I haven't a clue which others.
Not really a representative test of anything.
A monkey has a 50% chance of getting a True or False Q. right.

So they went and selected some of the toughest questions, however the actual test itself is not that difficult and you are supposed to read up from the "Life in the UK" book which contains all the answers. So the test can only prove that you can read and have an average memory. Of course if you take the test without reading the book you won't get many questions right...
