The New M5

For those who are interested the new M5 is now available on the BMW configurator.

They are currently offering 15,000chf refund on the car (due to FX). With a base price of 147,500chf - you'll need it. Well specced (after the 15k discount) I reckon on around 155-160k price.

Mind you, that gets you a 560ps, four door, 5-seater car - that achieves 9.9l/100km on the combined cycle.

Re: The New M5

Too rich for me, I'm more excited by the new 1-series. Granted the 5-door F20 doesn't look particularly pretty, but BMW should be releasing a coupe and 3-door variant some time next year.

Here is a fan's photoshop effort of what such a car might look like.

Re: The New M5

I'm waiting on the new F30 3-series - and then the Alpina version.

That 1-series is well off. The new 1er will sit on BMWs new "small car" platform - and will be front wheel drive. So expect a far shorter bonnet.

Re: The New M5

9.9, beats me at 11-12, pretty impressive actually for the number of horsies and weight. Test driven the last model M5, nice drive, just too damn big for me, like coupes anyway.

Was looking at the new Z4 3.5i hardtop cabrio today while tire(tyre)-kicking until the service manager was free. Nice car, looks improved in lots of ways, but the Wallace (& Grommit) grill is saying cheese much louder than before.

F80 M3 might be interesting, but now they are talking about an M4, it's all getting pretty confusing...

Some pics of the new M5 @ Frankfurt IIA.
Great colour, great car...a bit too big for my taste. I'm looking forward for the new F30 coupe.
Btw, the F30 limousine was revealed today.

The coupe (F32) and convertible (F44) will not be marketed as a 3er, but as the new 4-Series

Aren't Audi doing the same with their A4 / A5 models? IMO, increases in scale are a sign of limited imagination.
