| | Posting pictures from the internet ???
Is it just me, or is it now really hard to find and post pics from the internet?
The old "Google Images" was brilliant to just pic up a pic and paste it into whatever document (or internet post for that matter) you are working on.
For now, I'm ACTUALLY working, and I'm having difficulties finding an image I can download and paste into a word document.
Is this some sort of new "Legal" thing?
Is there an alternative website anyone can suggest to find pictures*?
*pictures - they are agricutlural pics for the record. Nothing suspicious.
*but would also like to know where to quickly source pics for general EF shenanigans.

seriously? If you can view it on your screen, it's downloaded on your system somewhere. Worst case scenario, do a screenshot, cut and paste and crop. A bit tedious, but if it's the picture you want, it's goes pretty simple

Dude, not sure if it answers your question but I usually get work/presentation pictures from Gettyimages. There are lots of free ones on there to go around.

Yeah Yeah....... I know
It's like "Forum Impotence"...... I can download the picture, but "I can't get it up"
Seriously, when I paste ANY picture into the word doc it comes up with an ERROR, and 'unable to paste' message.
I've tried a few different formats (and blamed the internet of course) but all are not working.
Maybe the I.T. Nazi's downstairs have modified what I can use from the net.
I'll try the "Gettyimages" and see if that works.
( I also realise I potentially sent my own thread off topic with the impotence call)

save it on your harddrive and then paste it on the doc.

Some sites disable downloading for copyrighted images. Or there may be a specific download page for it (this is how it works with flickr)

Also, yes, I am downloading them into a file, I can "see" the images..... word just won't accept them when I try to paste it.
I have no idea why?
This hasn't happened before

If you can download them, open them in another program (paint, photoshop, browser, whathave you) it's probably an issue with word. Have you tried the long route: insert, picture method? What format are the pictures? jpg, bmp, gif?

The photo files are:
jpg
png
Both don't work.
The jpeg photo is one of my own, so I doubt it's a copyright issue.
I'll try the photoshop route and see if that helps.

I'm a little bit confused in your query.
Are you using the typical "right click COPY IMAGE" open Word "right CLICK PASTE" on document way?
Is that what is giving an error?
Or is it the "INSERT IMAGE FROM FILE" menu option?
As an advice, all images I use from the internet on a static document are stored in my local computer in a proper folder "right click SAVE IMAGE AS" way. Then placed on the word document.
This usually stops all problems.
I'm sorry I'm a bit confused on what exactly your problem is.

The short route is to have the folder open with the picture and drag-and-drop it into your open word document window. Can you insert any pictures at all into your word document? (random jpgs on your system? Clip art? etc?)

Yeah, it was the "Insert Image from File" option.
The drag and drop option just worked then, so I'll keep with that.
Any idea's what that Error message might be?????
As I said, this hasn't happened before, so I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do, or why it occurred.
