I'll need to come up with a catchy combo, but inevitably when engaged in doing something really enjoyable at a time when one should be doing something else Like now - probably need to put EF away and tackle the stacks on my table. Maybe time-fly?

Here...allow me to help you with that.http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkinson's_law.

Parkinson's law of triviality is very helpful, too.

Don't sweat it. Moral support. I am tackling my organically growing stacks. After I run.

That's really true.

There must be a pedagogical word for this cerebrally motivating, performance orientated, positive type of stress. I forgot.

Exams, academia context - that's a positive type of stress; deadline at work, not always. (what are managers good for)

That's what one of my cats thinks too. He sleeps either on me, or the keyboard (decorating many a text with his paws) and attacks the mouse my faithful study buddy into the wee hours of the night.

Thanks Sky for bringing this beautiful voice, and sad loss, to EF. My "quote of the day" for 15 yr old daughter, always struggling to find her "place" is from Maya Angelou.

I had a kitten, now a 17 yr-old dame, when working on my thesis - she kept my neck and shoulders warm to aid against keyboard hunch.

Re: Word of Today

Aaah - relief. Performance, striving to achieve, goal setting, bow.

It felt good to stress, practice, have that anticipation before a concert build up. Coaching my kid through this, be her companion in doing something different. She was happy to have me play next to her. I will do it for our friends kid, too, just a little nudge, so we don't lose another future musician due to lack of guts, accompaniment, motivation, right back up at the right time. They smile so happy when they walk out the stage, big lights pointed at them..
