yezevets How do you spell it acutally, my only word of Czech! | | | | | It's funny you remember that one, heheh. Jezevec. Cute...Animal names are great words. I loved cramming conceptualisation, I should hop over to Linguistics thread, but remember a kid ability to conceptualise is mostly demonstrated on sounds, then abstract pics in books, then real creatures..They always use the example of giraffe, elephants or snakes, not sure why we don't "pollute" tots books with some other marvelous and weird animals. Why discriminate...the process of conceptualisation might be longer, but isn't everyone bored of primary colors, basic shapes and 4-5 different animals? Get a Geo or Nat Geographic!
Wilderbeast! Wombat...tarantula. Amoeba. Paroquet. Puffin.
Little Prince and his fussy rose is so pasé. His fox is still ok.
Kids conceptualise much earlier, anyways, and it is much more complex and abstract than a silly concept creation of a giraffe.

But what if somebody really close to you gets relly ill and there is very little we can do to change it..ignoring helplessness, defying it, not letting the person know that it's hard for us I think is still the only way to give support and prioritizing the other one.

Back to the world of words - just saw Gogol, all full of intrigues and tricks, I don't think life is less complicated than it was back then.

Collective intellectual. That's a bit weird one for me to fully support. Maybe due to the collective notion which can be abused. What part of our packaged knowledge that we share is private and which our intellectual properties, skills and habits, would be partially reporting to higher need of the community, on a moral imperative to act. Relativization imho is the future of intellectual and philosophical developement, again. Which part of that only tempts to give excuses to not act? How much of our knowledge would be almost community owned, since it binds us to react positively critically and with community interest in mind.
