Actually neutrally vibrant is the perfect and most worth striving for state to be in, you realize that? Vibrant and happy from within, not caused by something/someone outside (=can't be shattered either).
I love it when I'm in that state, unfortunately I have not found a way yet to keep it up 24/7.

Have you tried opera singing? Or knitting, then playing upright bass and banjo, I almost forgot. Some marginal, obscure poetry is also quite efficient and ukulele. Useless machinery is equally potent..or the smell of oil, rather. I swear by biathlon, too. Frequent sex and morning 3km.
