RIP Jimmy Saville

Proper weird guy, but one of the iconic TV presenters of my childhood and without question a tireless charity worker.

He was 84.......which astonishes me

Re: RIP Jimmy Saville

I used to enjoy " Jim'll Fix it" on a saturday night.

He was a weird guy and I could never understand why he had to have all that gold round his neck but his dedication and fundraising for charity was amazing - I think he was even running marathons till quite recently.

Re: RIP Jimmy Saville

he was constantly doing charity work, he voluntarilly worked as a porter at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, lost count of the number of marathons he ran, used to look out for him in the London one. Well deserved Knighthood in 1990.

much loved by many and will be missed

Well he won't be fixing it for anyone anymore. Strange bloke when I was older, but really liked him when I was younger.

Re: RIP Jimmy Saville

Very surprised that no one has commented on Jimmy's exploits which have surfaced in recent weeks.

Now Gary Glitter's & Freddie Starr's names have been mentioned ... I wonder who next.

Also there is a comment in the press relating to Prince Charles ... "It emerged that in 1999 Prince Charles sent the presenter, then 73, a Christmas card with the message: “Give my love to your ladies in Scotland!”"

Me thinks we are only scratching the surface ... I guess there will be a VERY long list of names who knew what was going on and said nothing.

Horrible man, too bad the open secret of his behaviour when he was alive didn't stop him from assaulting so many defenseless children.

They have been - Jimmy Savile documentary

I'll close this thread off, as I doubt that anybody has anything nice to say about the guy now.
