Dear EFers

I've been giving some thought lately to how we as individuals can pro actively improve the quality of their relationships, and ultimately their lives too.

We seem to be caught up in the stress of work, kids, cultural conflicts and attempting to have a few minutes for ourselves a day.

What have you done to help take the winter/mid-life-crisis blues away?

Looking forward to getting some ideas

Cheers
Puddy

Re: [Marriage/Relationship] Spicing it up!

Being spontaneous when you have 2 young kids just doesn't really work though. There always has to be a babysitter if you go out anywhere as a couple and if you take (my) kids with you then you will simply not be able to even talk to your other half without one of them butting in.

Earlier this year we were in the UK and left the kids with my parents and spent the night in the hotel where we got married as it was our 10th anniversary. They upgraded us to the honeymoon suite, gave us free champers and treated us very well at the hotel. Was really really lovely

Re: [Marriage/Relationship] Spicing it up!

Great ideas, thanks guys Would thank you but can't do that anymore

Kids are a huge spontenaeity killer for sure, and hopefully this thread can be some inspiration to those who need some ideas on how to get out of that rut you get in when living with work and kids etc.

Somehow I think even just making an effort can improve things a lot. It shows at least that you still find the other sexy and attractive.

No, kids are a result of the last "spicing it up session" when you couldn't be bothered to "bag up".

All it takes to spice things up a bit is to try something a bit different in the, erm, bedroom department

Use your imagination. It is difficult to be specific when one doesn't know what other people's norms are

We tried that.

I don't think we'll be very welcome in that Pfister again.

Really?

We planned to have kids and went in to have precautionary measures removed. Will do the same for the next sprog.

There must be some more ideas out there to make it exciting without necessarily outsourcing, aren't there?

I saw an oprah thing about p0rn for women, where the men were depicted happily helping with housework and changing shtty nappies. It's always nice to have a helpful husband and enthusiastic father of your children, but that's not my idea of sxy really.

I'm sure you are LiB . Do you necessarily need to have experience to know that things like that can turn a marriage nasty?
