| | [Marriage/Relationship] Spicing it up!
Dear EFers
I've been giving some thought lately to how we as individuals can pro actively improve the quality of their relationships, and ultimately their lives too.
We seem to be caught up in the stress of work, kids, cultural conflicts and attempting to have a few minutes for ourselves a day.
What have you done to help take the winter/mid-life-crisis blues away?
Looking forward to getting some ideas
Cheers
Puddy

Regular "date nights" seem to be a real winner with a lot of my married friends. Even better are couples nights/weekends away.
Childcare is always my problem with such things though. Finding a regular babysitter and organising date nights with my husband are going to be top of the list for my new years resolutions though.

Looking forward to getting some ideas | | | | | Probably not the kind of idea you were hoping for, but I bought a few cases of wine as a few glasses in the evening makes everything...warm and fuzzy. |

It does indeed help |

Dinner at home - quality time to sit down and talk to each other about your day.
Even if you dont have the time /financial flexibility to go away due to work commitments, have a regular ritual you do as a couple. Be it date nights, or a weekly long walk with the OH if you have a dog is great fun. Even if you dont have a dog, take the kids out and let them run in front of you. It gives you the chance to talk about nothing and everything under the sun.
Finally - a hobby together will be great. We are polar end opposites, me and the OH - character and interests wise. But we have a common love for football although we dont support the same clubs, we make it a point to head down to a pub and watch a match together if possible.
The other thing we both love is boardgames and we are both very competitive people (although he denies it). So Scrabble, Risk or Monopoly between the two of us over a bottle of wine can get very tense and rowdy but such good fun.
Just saying that quality time doesnt have to be weekend trips away.

Apparently DRS3 radio had a chat thing about women's magazines that are also 'of interest' to their significant male other.
I missed the title of them myself... anybody else know?

Have a good weekend folks... I'm off home to try some racy board games while drinking lots of wine.

How about getting all dressed up. Spare no expense. Spend at least about three hours in front of the mirror. Candles on the table and floors. Relaxing music, herbal oils. Velcro bra strap to make it all easy.
Then tell him you have a headache and don't touch that bit....
Repeat for about twenty years and you have yourself a real marriage! |
