The nett effect is trolling, whether by design or ignorance is your choice.
If it is multiple choice then can I have few more choices? Otherwise I will have to go with "by design" as I am definitely not ignorant.

Ok nothing worthy left to discuss on this thread any more. Everyone has put their point of view. I won't reply any more otherwise I will be accused of fanning the flames.

My parting message- Love animals & treat them with respect. They are not our circus slaves meant to end up on our dinner plates or pretentious Prada/Gucci handbags.

Night.

Late night Phil? This post subscription thing is like meth. Phil you no play fair as Nigella is an illegal move. My right hand remembers her fondly from my teenage days

Ok you can keep that hot 51 year old vegetarian lady as my new year gift to you. I will have to make do with these two ugly vegetarian youngsters while you play with beached old whale Nigella

Re: EARTHLINGS (Docu)- Make the connection! :-(

it depends on food habits.
in veg food habits all necessarily required energy, vitamins and other salts can be fulfilled.
eat two date fruit daily - it is iron rich. even hemoglobin will increase

As a brainless/headless/heartless meat lover, I eat meat not only because I love it but a vegetarian diet would not provide me with enough iron. Most vegetarians suffer from iron deficiency and don't even know that.

Re: EARTHLINGS (Docu)- Make the connection! :-(

i would suggest another documentary
The cove http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1313104/
This is also a kind of animal abuse.

So I finally watched this animal rights documentary in its entirety. In the past I tried but always failed because I just did not have the heart

I challenge all flesh eaters to watch it from start to finish. Even if you don't change your selfish exploitive ways at least be fully aware of what you directly support. It's a must watch for all. Should be part of school curriculum in my opinion.

My special message to dog and cat owners (or pet owners in general) is how of all the people you guys can consume non veg food? Don't you make the connection? It's about time people face up to the reality of animal suffering instead of brushing it under the carpet and acting dumb!

You can watch the entire movie here.

IMDB 8.5/10

Re: EARTHLINGS (Docu)- Make the connection! :-(

I watched the trailer last night and some of the clips in there I had seen before from old PETA videos. Yes it's cruel, yes it happens every day all around the world but.. I think that saying all meat eaters are effectively directly supporting these practices is nonsense. When I buy meat, I do always look on the label as to where the meat has come from and tend to go for the organic free range produce. I also always buy free range eggs. So... to my point, am I directly supporting animal cruelty by buying meat? No. Am I supporting farmers that rear animals in a humane way? I believe so. So generalising all meat eaters as brainless, selfish... yada yada yada is not acceptable and certainly not true.

GoVeg, I respect your right to be a vegetarian, have strong views, and have an agenda.

Maybe you are also a nice guy, but in this thread you make a lot of rude comments and seem quite offensive.

Your simultaneous declarations about your prowess in bed and who you used to masterbate about... so completely off topic and weird (and derailing your very own thread!) honestly make me think you might well be suffering some kind of vitamin and mineral deficiencies due to your diet you are so passionate about!

I happen to like veal, steak and used to hunt. So there.

I have yet to meet a vegan who is entirely sane, and many of the vege's I know seem to have a loose screw or too. I blame the lack of correct food that we, as an omnivore species, need
why you quote me?

Not entirely true. Most of leather sold in the west is sourced from India and China. Cows are treated extremely horribly in India by leather production industry, yeah holy shit! China we all know is a champion of animal rights We in the west just try to outsource our guilt.

Mad cow slaughters happened in Europe didn't they? So in three years animals are getting 5 star hotel treatment? They are going to get nursery rhymes sung to them and when they are fast asleep a lethal injection will be given to them away from the gaze of other lined up animals? Get real! If it so good then why don't you check in too?

I have grudging respect for non veg people who say that they don't give a **** about animal welfare compared to people who spin a yarn about how animals are well looked after. There is nothing humane about animal slaughter and it never will be. There is varying degrees of cruelty but all of it is cruel.

So yeah what was your point?

How many times will I address this? If you can't work it out for yourself then what can I say

Many times and witnessed slaughter first hand. Butcher in my extended family too.

It must be the company you keep. Still tough competing with brainless/headless/heartless non veg people
Theres nothing humane about the slaughter human beings, but hey, we still do it.

But.............if we as humans are overly breeding cows, chickens, sheep, etc for our consumption, i.e. breeding more than that would exist if they bred naturally in the wild, then effectively we only slaughtering what we manually produced. I don't see the issue.

Some cows have a better life than me, I would love to be suspended in the air, massaged all day and have a diet of beer.
