| | EARTHLINGS (Docu)- Make the connection! :-(
So I finally watched this animal rights documentary in its entirety. In the past I tried but always failed because I just did not have the heart
I challenge all flesh eaters to watch it from start to finish. Even if you don't change your selfish exploitive ways at least be fully aware of what you directly support. It's a must watch for all. Should be part of school curriculum in my opinion.
My special message to dog and cat owners (or pet owners in general) is how of all the people you guys can consume non veg food? Don't you make the connection? It's about time people face up to the reality of animal suffering instead of brushing it under the carpet and acting dumb! You can watch the entire movie here. IMDB 8.5/10 |

I would watch it, get upset, then in about a week forget about it and buy a big burger.

You are welcome to choose what you eat. Meat eaters however generally refrain insulting and mocking vegetarians. After all, there are many other ways consumer veggies cause misery and suffering.

I'd probably eat a burger while watching it, if I watched it at all. I have no compulsions against eating meat. Humans are naturally omnivorous. I prefer my meat to come from humanitarian sources, however.

Tell you what, if you can convince my cats to go vegan, maybe I'll give it a go myself!

Straw man argument much? | | | | | I was a vegetarian for 13 years. People like you always give veggies a bad name and do their cause more harm than good.
You are just bitter and angry looking for a fight.

Tom | | | | | I can communicate with you but not your cat. Your body can easily survive and even thrive on veg food but your pussy's body probably can not.

| | Re: EARTHLINGS (Docu)- Make the connection! :-( I couldnt become a veggie. I have nothing against people that are, but just couldn’t. The thought of never eating lamb or beef doesn’t bear thinking about. Plus, with the decreased protein, lack of food choices, decreased creatinine and vitamins and minerals, I don’t like the idea of taking supplements, essentially pills to compensate what my body can get from natural consumption of foods. |

Some people get wound up and bent out of shape bit too easily.
Ok that is all the spare time I have today.

Don't you make the connection? | | | | | My cousins raised sheep for 4H from the time they were ~9 years old until they left for college. Girl cousin sent hers off for slaughter when they were old enough, boy cousin sold his for wool, go figure . Now they are gone and grown up my uncle still keeps a half dozen or so around; last Father's Day a thunderstorm hit, uncle comes in the house in tears- all the sheep had huddled under a tree and got struck by lightning. It broke his heart.
Yet- he still would have sent some of them to slaughter eventually, and still hunts deer, and in fact his PhD is in cattle nutrition i.e. how to make bigger healthier cows for better steaks and burgers .
GoVeg, your enthusiasm reminds me of a 15 year old who just saw a PETA pamphlet on chicken production. How far do you want to take animal rights? No meat? No fur or leather? Do fish count? Wool? Honey? I bet you a franc you use animal based products with some regularity and don't even know it. The simple fact that you have a life that permits you to make a post like this means that you are somehow responsible for the deaths of animals- or hey- how about the kids in China who made your computer?
"Well we all should start somewhere and make an effort"- saved you a step there - OK, sure, we should all help to make the world a better place but personally I think there are things more worthy of our attention and efforts than animal rights. Kbye |

Also Mud I am getting old so kind of glad that I am still enthusiastic about things like a 15 year old I have a body that is 10 years younger looking though | Quote: | | | | No meat? No fur or leather? Do fish count? Wool? Honey? | | | | | Off course fish counts. Yes no fur and no leather (watch the docu). Wool and honey is grey area but I try to avoid them. Point is to end most cruel practises and work your way down.
Got to go out now, running late.
Bye

This is the third time I have had this film pushed in my face, it is disgusting, but almost all these practices are illegal here, and all will be illegal in about 3 years time.
Most of that film was shot outside of Europe. So what points are you trying to make?
