Week to spare in February/March. Suggestions for a warm destination?
Hello everybody,
Short intro: I had no vacation this year and probably it's going to be sparse next year also. Where to go to let off steam for a week a bit in February/March or so next year?
I guess that by late winter I will be going wintersports fairly often, so skiing vacation is not the #1 favorite. I'd prefer somewhere warm, even tropical if possible. Lack of completely developed infrastructure or services is not a minus, lack of masses of tourists is a plus. It should be worth travelling to for a week, so no. Preferably something different from the European culture, but not too much to cause too much of a cultural shock.
Pretty much only northern Africa comes to mind, Caribbean and/or the Indian Ocean islands such as Reunion are on the edge of the travel time feasibility. However, if people can go to New York for 4 days, then, say, Martinique for a week should be doable.
Thanks a lot for eventual feedback! The winning idea contributor is officially promised a postcard.
Cheers,
Juraj
