Re: Moderation Inconsistencies Rife on EF

You were warned by the mods, and now it appears you're having a toys pram moment.

This thread is not really helping you out here is it Jordan?

I think this is best put out of it's misery.

I post thread in general off topic, regarding same football game, but what the experience of people who have attended said stadium have sampled in going. My thread gets moved, to Sports, not daily life.

Anyone care to explain?
Is this what this whole thread is about..? FC Basel vs Man Utd - Post game

Off topic is totally the wrong area for it as the subject matter was about a Swiss football team. Had the subject been about some game played outside of Switzerland, say Japan v. Korea then yes, that would have belonged in off topic.

If you had asked me to clarify why I moved your thread you would have gotten the simple answer but I'm guessing from the look of this thread you have another agenda.

Can I have more insight into EF Mods? How does it work? Who are these people? How do they achieve Mod status? Do they talk to each other? Are they friends with others users? Why are their moderations never consistent?
Each Mod works at much or as little as their private life permits and inclination takes them. This Mod goes through the reported posts. Sometimes checks the 'Contact us' . She checks her in-box for PM's and replies to them. She sees see if anyone has been banned and why. She goes through the New Posts, oldest to newest, reacting as necessary and as time allows giving information, correcting quotes, removing names, phone numbers, email addresses.

Who are we? We are members.
We are asked to become a Mod by the other members of the team.
We talk to each other occasionally. We write to each other more often than talk.
Some of us are friends with some of you.
Consistent? We are not clones of each other. Never consistent? this is an exaggeration.

A few examples:

- The usual suspects groan my posts. Either my opinion doesn’t fit theirs, or I am not worthy of posting an opinion. Fine
- I groan other posts I don’t like. They bad rep or personally message me to whinge.
- I like to read the opinions of people who groan me. Sometimes I don’t like what I read. I groan them. I get warning.
- I read a thread in Daily Life wanting tickets for football game. Its not moved. I don’t care
- I post thread in general off topic, regarding same football game, but what the experience of people who have attended said stadium have sampled in going. My thread gets moved, to Sports, not daily life.

Anyone care to explain?
I don't groan. If I see tit for tat groaning I warn both parties.
I move posts. Sometimes the content of the first post in a Thread belongs in several completely different sections. Sometimes in the course of a Thread's life it changes direction. Sometimes I don't notice that a thread is in the wrong place. Sometimes no-one notices. Sometimes a Mod moves a post and another moves it again. This is not the end of the world. It just shows that we, like the other EF members, see things from different angles. Life is too short to worry too much about it all.
