Tomorrow could be 'D' day for the Euro, we will see if the latest measures outlined to protect it will be accepted by the markets and if not 'What Then'?.

It may be just the right time to discuss what would you do if the sh*t hit the fan and the lights went out ??

This subject of survival has been touched on recently but it is a massive topic, so many different things could happen, to get the subject moving I will list a few questiions, this list will be far from exhaustive but all could warrant discussion...

1. Meltdown - How do you think the authorities would react to massive social unrest from a starving population when all means of production come to a halt?

2. Survive - Would you want to? If not how would you dispatch yourself, what about your loved ones or dependents?

3. If you survived

i) Where would you go?
ii) What would you take with you?
iii) Who would you take with you?
iv) What would you eat?
v) How would you keep warm?
vi) How would you protect yourself?
vii) How would you see yourself mixing socially in a world gone made?
viii) How would you protect yourself from an authority that wants you dead?

I could go on forever, but theres enough to start someone off....

Considering that somewhere in the world, it is already tomorrow, and nothing has happened, why worry ?

Onei, seriously, there's already so much to be understood of this world without the chaotic pandemonium you're describing.

I would suggest quiet observation, and then make decisions.
You'd be very surprised just how good people really are at finding a way to survive difficulty.

Sky, I don't want to be quietly observing my friends and family being marched off to the concentrating camps or dragged out into the street by unruly gangs or worse still a hostile military.

History proves that observation can delay positive response.

6 million souls not far from here are experiencing the after-life prematurely because they observed too long and failed to react quickly enough.

I don't know if you have seen the news today? It's still a bit early yet but an American drone has been found in Iran and explosions have been reported close to Iran's nuclear establishments.

These two incidents may be coincidence but one fact is that Iran has found a hostile war machine on it's territory, it may or may not have been armed but it was found...This does not bode well for American - Iran relations, which are strained already to say the least.

Read the signs happening everywhere, I have been observing and I don't feel comfortable one tiny bit, I am not going to stick my head in the sand and hope it all goes away tomorrow, I have a family to protect and care for and will prepare, needed or not...

Observing this forum I have noticed quite often that the first response to a new topic usually sets the course of the discussion....

Instead of complaining about all this doomsday stuff, I'd suggest spending more time with your friends, loved ones and especially your friend who's critically ill.

I have a bomb shelter in my house that's stocked with wine, beer and toilet paper. When doomsday comes, I'll grab my kids, some blankets, jass cards, my iphone and make the best of it.

You haven't really thought this situation through have you, imagine if you did that

1. If you drank your wine and beer you would get intoxicated in front of your children, being in a small enclosed space not in complete control you may be protected inside from outside but are those protected inside protected from you?

2. It may be very possible that you hear something doing on outside, the first thing you will most likely experience is fear (toilet paper will come in very handy) then possibly panic. Two very strange emotions to deal with at the best of times, worse still pis*ed.

3. One of the first things to be cut in a disaster situation would be personal communications, even if you could get a single from your shelter an IPhone would only be good to play games on.

4. In the safety of your shelter you are now a survivor, not only that you now have your children to care for, what are you going to do?

These shelters were not built to store wine & beer, in hindsight the Swiss realised that the world could become a very bad place so insisted on having them built to protect their people.

You may not feel the need to think ahead but others may, it's not a matter of doom and gloom its a matter of what practical steps could be taken in certain conditions...

I'd go to KFC and not worry too much about what's going on around me...coming to think, I'm doing that already quite frequently.
