to me (and my generation) if you think of switzerland you think of lugano and if you think of lugano you think of... Lugano Addio by Ivan Graziani. still today a beautiful romantic song about a southern boy falling in love with a nordic (swiss) girl and a wholly new world north of the italian border
Ooh that brings back some memories. We always sang it on coach trips when I was a kid.
My son loves it when I speak with my Yorkshire accent, I must teach him this one later.
My other half once thought the farmer was a foreigner when he answered the door to him one day as he couldn't understand a word he said. When my dad came to talk to him there were two foreigners around. OH couldn't believe that they were both actually speaking English.
