And i read in the scottish newspaper too that police are hunting the "big man"

The police should give it a break, this guy was quite obviously a pr*ck who had no ticket and deserved more than what he got

Whether he had a ticket or not, the big man has assaulted him.

What annoys me though, that the police hunt for a guy who is dealing with a ned who simply didnt go by the rules on scotrail. And by the way, he claimed to have a ticket but couldnt show it on the train nor afterwards to prove it. The police should be spending more time looking for these bams who attack people unprovoked in Scotland, it happens so often and happened to me too.

The conductor reacted wrong. The process is to offer to send a bill to the persons house, not to hold a train back.

By the way, this was not glasgow, this was in Linlithgow, near Edinburgh

Screaming words are very little to compared with physical violence resultings in pretty obvious cut, bruises and scratches.
So you'd rather have the kid shouting and swearing in front of your kids or being thrown off the train? He was pushed off the train and tried to come back at which point he was more forcefully taken off the train.

Apparently the ticket inspector had started this argument 10 minutes before the recording started. Little shits like the fair dodger deserve to be treated like that for being...well...little shits. Giving this type of person and cuddle and saying awww....it's okay....you can pay next time...

Call the police or the railway police or security...as they would eject him without punching him in the face..and thus avoid possible legal action.
He wasnt punched, he was thrown off the train and due to the struggle he fell and hit the floor

Ah yes, that's much better....so, which resulted in facial bruises, possible bone fraction and a slight concussion? All that approved by some railway grynch?

The conductor may well have offered to send a bill to the kid's house. He was being so damn stubborn that I wouldn't doubt he refused to give his address and had no ID on him.

Let's not forget that this type of person would get peppered sprayed in Switzerland

Neither is desirable, but physical violence is much more shocking to witness than having to listen to a couple of swear words.

The big thug threw his ample weight around and inflamed the situation. He also acted with unnecessary force and violence; neither being necessary or acceptable.

fare dodgers have no right.
They are knowingly on a train illegally possibly occupying a seat which should have gone to a paying customer, possibly occupying a seat and a third which should have gone to paying customer(s) +

There is absolutely no evidence of that and, judging from the whole stance of the jumped-up conductor, I think it is highly unlikely.

The guy doesn't claim to be punched in the face. He said he sustained the injuries when he was thrown from the train landing on his face.

There is no punch in the film.

If you watch the video from 1.34, you'll see the big man physically push the conductor off the train. That's not hero behaviour, that's just being angry, aggressive and out of control.
Watch again

You will see the guy touch the conductors shoulder.
Then you see the young guys arm from the outside...... what is happening in front we can't see.
The big guy seems to fall in front of the conductor, not push him.

It's not clear why the conductors hands are open but it doesn't suggest he is impressed with the big mans behaviour.

In saying all of this, it's clear and obvious that the conductor should have just issued a fine to the young bloke and had the train move on.

Arguing about it for 10 mins is equally unacceptible, and I can imagine the frustration of the other passengers with quotes like "I'm not going anywhere, the train can sit here all night"....... the young bloke is just a wanker.

The "ticket"
The entire issue is about a ticket....... where is it?
If he was thrown off the train for not having one, and he claimed that he handed over THE WRONG ticket.... he must still have the right one.

Why can't he provide that?

The young guy is a tosser plain and simple.

The big bloke shouldn't have thrown him off, it's not his job

The conductor should have just moved the train on in the first place and fined the simple prick.

When did I say there was evidence of it? There is no evidence to the contrary either...we just don't know. I'd imagine a ticket inspector would know the rules far better than some British people on an expat forum...so I give the benefit of the doubt to the ticket inspector...call me crazy.

I'd imagine the conversation went something like this

'Ticket please.'
*little shit shows wrong ticket*
'Wrong ticket'
'No it's no!'
'Yes it is, now pay for the correct one. That will be 5'
'I'm no paying for no more tickets!'
'Give me ID so I can invoice you'
'I got no ID'

*Arguing for ten minute about him getting off the train and cut to the current video on youtube*

I am with Nicola on this. No one is saying to give him a hug and forget it. What I am saying is call the freaking security and let THEM handle him.

That's all.
Those are just the visible injuries...hitting the concrete that hard to produce such bruises can easily lead to the aforementioned injuries.
