Unusual items of clothing you actually wear

It can be anything. From a very weirdly coloured skirt to some tie with playboy bunnies all over it. Or a bag shaped like a cat. The only requirement is that you actually wear them.

So my first obviously. A couple of days ago i got this very nice pair of shoes

If you look really closely at the design you will see a world map. No more studying geography for me!

Re: Unusual items of clothing you actually wear

Love those shoes!!!!

I don't really wear anything weird. Normal attire is jeans and a top....practical for dealing with toddlers

I used to wear really funky shoes and accessories but that ended 2.5 years ago

Re: Unusual items of clothing you actually wear

God, I will take pics laters. But folks who make their own clothes usually end up with some funky, not your usual H&M thing...not that that would actually be the aim here at all, just that you tend to make things the way you like them, not the way standard confection would do.

Today I am in a black sleek pencil skirt, I made it tailored but from a black silky padded astronaut fabric.

something like this. It's the material that is funky, shiny and embroided.

Otherwise my weirdest item would probably be sleeve covers I made out of man stripy button up shirt, as clerks used to wear and notaries in 30s to not make their shirt sleeves dirty. I wear it with short button up shirts, starched and neatly ironed, to gigs as well, it's fun. I made it since my grandpa was a notary and mom talked about his starched sleeve covers all the time.

And then, I have a Pilgrim outfit. With the white little hat and all. Long canvas navy blue dress, white silk shirt. I pulled a couple of hardcore gigs in it, with braids and elaborate buns. Oh man, it was hilarious.

Re: Unusual items of clothing you actually wear

Hummm... I wore some odd things when teaching...

My favourite was an Elastigirl outfit, which I once wore for an entire day. My class didn't believe I was the 'real' Elaastigirl (even though I stayed in character, pretended not to know their names etc.)... because they spotted that under the eye mask I was wearing glasses! I'd taken the precaution of ensuring the classroom camera was not charged, so there's no photographic evidence!

Apart from that, I quite often wear an old nurse's smock when I'm at ergotherapy, to protect my clothes. I do occasionally get mistaken for a nurse by the other patients because of this, which can be quite funny.

Oh and I have some slipper-socks with stuffed elephants on them. Left over from teaching days.

Re: Unusual items of clothing you actually wear

I love funky dresses with nice patterns and have a couple that are not to everyone's taste. The two from the attachment are amongst my favorites (shamrocks and apple baskets).

I'm not wearing "unusual items" for regular work days but at the weekend or when I have one of these "need to dress up" days.

At the moment I'm wearing pink Hello Kitty socks, with a Mafalda jumper.

I often wear my Minnie Mouse tshirt too, including when I'm teaching (at uni). I like the contrast between a serious job and childlike clothes.

Haven't worn it in public yet. The wife and I each have one and the kids will get them for Christmas. Super comfy for lounging around the house.

Re: Unusual items of clothing you actually wear

Had to borrow a Man Utd shirt at a company event in the summer because someone spilled a pot of dip on my blouse so had to chat up clients dressed like a thug but with suit trousers and heels below.

Waterproof trousers with a high waist band that's what happens to dog owners. Grumpy.com. ( unless of course you own a bag dog).
