Im nicer than you. If somebody is interesting, not Mr ugly 20xx and can hold a conversation from the phone/internet chat, is not attached and is not a friends crush/ex/mention she kinda liked him he gets a first date.

smokers. Oh I know you, barely smoke at all, socially only, only outside, not a problem. And next thing you know you have someone smoking 3 packs per day and "never indoors" has morphed from well sometimes..quite often..all the bloody time.

Sure. Basically - are they nice to waitresses, check-out girls, taxi drivers and similar. A person who manages to be nice to you and horrible to people he considers "beneath him" is not a very nice person.
Also, if he is only rude to people of opposite sex, this can mean that he also does not have a high opinion of the female gender in general and after a while, he does not bother to conceal it in your relationship either.
