I haven't. Is it because not even elk or moose dare to venture there?

Re: Nunavut - Have you ever heard of it?

It's a relatively recent invention, as I understand it, so a lot of people won't have heard about it in school.

That, and the fact that it's in Canada, and therefore unimportant...

It was big in the news when they created it. Or was it just the Canadians working at TV5 who made it a big news there?

When a timeshare salesman once asked me where I most wanted to go I answered "Nunavut". He asked me whether I was making it up. He also confirmed that his company had no timeshares there...

On the map it seems like names are written also in some strange script. Any idea what script it is?

It's the Canadian inuit syllabic script. Google inuktitut syllabary.

I deleted my original comment because I didn't want to offend any sensitive Canadians. Glad I didn't.

PS: Cannut, I think you and I are the only active posters on this forum right now. It feels like we are in....Nunavut.

Re: Nunavut - Have you ever heard of it?

a Canadian can easily be offended. Tell him he looks Swiss (note: I am Swiss. Hubby is Canadian. I tell him that quite often..)
