| | Get rid of pesky Microsoft help and support pop up on my HP G70 lappy??
Having sorted out my keyboard problem, I now have a really irritating thing happening. I cannot do anything at all without the horrible help and support window popping up and it is impossible to close it.
I went to the official Microsoft page for instructions as to how to disable it and they recommend starting by performing a clean boot. However, I cannot even do this as when I click on the start key the help window pops up and I am not able to do anything else ... it is impossible to close it!
I have tried restarting my laptop several times, all to no avail.
Can anyone help please? Thanks.

Switch off your laptop. Unplug the power supply. Disconnect the battery. Then restart. That will give you a clean boot.
Then report back and I (or others) will see what needs doing next.

From the PDF in your other thread: How do I reset master password on HP laptop?
Although I believe that this procedure will not solve the issue of the pop ups taking control of your lappy, which indicates it is likely a piece of spyware / malware having taken over your Windows Operating System.

A screen shot can easily help determine if it was genuine or not. For the fake ones, look at the links I posted earlier.

This is all very worrying as it is so hard to detect what is genuine and what isn't.
I have just performed this and restarted and it seems to be better.
Does the above look genuine please?
PS - thanks for all of the above jrspet - I do not recognise any of them. I did take a screenshot and saved it as a Word document (with a .docx extension). However, when I tried to upload it I was told that it is in invalid file.
