4 years, 3 girlfriends and 1000 posts later......

4 years, 3 girlfriends and 1000 posts later and i can say that finally i feel at home.

I have had a strange 4 years here, including moving back to London for 6 months, then after realizing how crap everything is compared to Switzerland i came back.

My previous life in London was rather different and it took some ajusting.

For those that know me personally, leaving that world behind was not easy, but i had a plan to just concentrate on my music and hopefully get signed to a large label in America. I did manage to get two offers, one was great but fell through and the other was crap. So i just continued and ended up falling into doing intros & jingles etc... for tv shows/ads. Its not what i wanted or expected, but i can't complain as the money is good and gives me time to work on my album (will be finished this year).

Being somewhat of a hermit the forum has been a great outlet for me. So a thank-you to Mark (RIP) for starting something truely wonderful.

I think my biggest breakthrough was joining Rugby Club Zug, not only did it improve my Swiss-German ten fold but also i have made friends for life.

So if you are feeling lost here in Switzerland, just stick it out and eventually all will be okay.

cheers
SC

Nice one! I'm glad that you finally like it here, I know how much that can change your attitude to life and towards people. Of course, joining a Swiss club and learning the lingo was a stroke of genious .
Good luck with the next 3 girlfriends...

Great post! Congrats on the milestone!

Will you tell us your true ID (or the name under which you recorded your album) upon its release? Or maybe you should keep "Swiss Cheddar" as your artistic name since I get no hits when I search Itunes other than a couple of apps that I believe are related to Green Bay Packers football fans and some podcast from a Dr. Anne Matlow about patient safety while moving from Swiss cheese to cheddar!

Looking forward to hearing how life changes for you between now and post number 2000!

Writing jingles for TV shows... shouldn't that be Charlie Sheen riding that unicorn, then?

Congratulations Swiss Cheddar, really looking forward to hearing a sample of the new album.

At this rate it's going to take me another twenty years before I get to write a similar post.... sigh.

Its hard to piegon hole my music but in short my sound could be descibed as:

''Micatone meets Incognito meets Masters At Work meets MJ Cole''.

For this album, the style can only really be described as House'n'Garage as it covers several sub-genres of House and Garage.

But i also do Jazz, Downtempo, Chill-out, Ambient, Commercial House, Soulful/Deep House, Dubstep, Folk, Pop, Singer/Songwriter & extreme cheese Pop for the TV/Ads/Youtube stuff.

cheers
