What is this obsession with the Kindle? There's more than just one e-book reader around you know. The others have the advantage that they work with public libraries, unlike the Kindle.
Its just easier to describe each ebook reader as "Kindle"

I got my mom a "Kobo" for Christmas but i still refer to it as "Kindle"

Re: kindle vs. paperbooks

I've stumbled across this video. It shows traditional printing method. There is something sublime about it, isn't there?

someone posted in an intro about being a bookworm which got me thinking ( stop shaking yer head LiB !! )

it's already been determined that video killed the radio star, but...

has, or will, Kindle et.al., kill the paper back book?

On a side note. I have problems with the chemicals in the ink of books especially cheap quickly processed books. Kindle and the like has really allowed me to increased my reading. Another side line, Ink is going to be one of the next health topics. Its already coming up in morning shows in USA... US Lawyers can get ready for the next windfall to pay for their kids college ed.

Re: kindle vs. paperbooks

I love the kindle books but do not own a kindle as such. I just use the kindle app on my iPad and Macbook Air's.

Love it, Love it, Love it, syncs from which ever device I was reading on last, can take my 50+ books with me without taking a huge suitcase.

Read a huge amount more and got back to enjoying reading all kinds of topics which I doubt I would do as much with conventional books.

Yes, I am one of those people clicking, "I want to read this on kindle" in the amazon store.

I am sure it is better for the planet but sure it is going to hurt physical book stores.
