Avoid "Feel Barcelona" if you're planning a trip

My wife and I had a great time in Barcelona over the weekend. Fantastic city, and will definitely visit again, but not via a booking through "Feel Barcelona".

As soon as we'd shut the door on the apartment to leave to go to the airport on our way home, I realised I'd left my passport inside. My bad. Never mind, my flight was delayed anyway, and so I call the contact number.

It took them nearly THREE hours to get to the apartment to let me in (and yes, I did therefore miss my flight). This was despite being told that someone would come in
1. 25 minutes.
2. A few minutes
3. In five minutes. (apparently at this point he went to the wrong apartment, which was somehow my fault).

You really find a company's worth when things go wrong. Sure, it was my fault I'd left my passport in the apartment. But to have to wait three hours for someone with a key to turn up, is incredible. Half an hour, ok. One hour, maybe. But three?

We should perhaps have been expecting this, as when we arrived, we called to say we were on our way, and were told that someone would be at our apartment to check us in at 13:10. He finally turned up at 13:35...

All I can say is: avoid.

Wow. Sorry about your bad experience NAT. Missing your flight really sucks.

Just wanted to say though that I used Feel Barcelona a few years ago and found the exact opposite. While we were staying at the apartment, the private lift broke down (while we were in it, and the ceiling of the lift partially collapsed during the incident). This was at about 11pm at night and we called straight away. They apologized and promised to get it sorted ASAP. I was not happy as it meant we had to walk up and down three flights of very dodgy stairs with all the baby stuff. But we only actually had to do that the one time we next left the apartment, by the time we returned the lift was fixed and Feel Barcelona called to confirm it was all OK, apologized again and refunded us half the price of the rental for the week, without us even requesting it.

I was really impressed with their customer service as a result. I'm sorry your experience was not as good. Maybe you can take it further higher up the company?

Well, I've written them a complaint. I'm not concerned about any compensation; simply recognition that they screwed up. If we'd been told from the outset - it's going to take three hours - then somehow that would have been bearable. But it's when you're told they'll be there any minute, and you just wait and wait and nothing happens...

We'd missed our flight after about an hour or so.

If I get a reply to my complaint, then I'll post back. I may even ask a mod to alter the subject if I get a good respose. You never know. It would be nice.

Oh, I willl. Probably in October - we loved the city.

btw - got an apology from the agency, and an explanation. Of course, screw-ups happen. But I still won't use them again.
