Re: I think I'm allergic to Switzerland

Thanks miniMia. I did my shopping before reading your reply. Had a look in Coop and found out Palmolive does it in soap bars and shower gel. Just in case, I bought both .

Again, thanks for the tip and the reply.

Most gels are not soap at all but detergents and they strip off all the oil from our skin. Here in the dry air, it's much too harsh.

If it's a special mild gel let us know how that work.

The soap I buy looks sort of like this one on the left. It's opaque and sort of an ugly khaki color. But leaves my skin soft. The gels make my skin feel itchy.

Didn't know that about gels . Any way, I'll tell you how it goes.

I wanted to thank you by pm but your inbox is full .

Let's hope that one you choose is a mild one. But, yes, if you have dry skin & with a dry climate I think gels don't help. Nivea has a gel with oil in it (see below) but I find it's not great as it leaves a residue on the shower.

I cleaned out some of my inbox....

Re: I think I'm allergic to Switzerland

Please go see a doctor!!!
I had similar symptoms 5 years ago, had just moved house too. The water retention and lethargy was puzzling..then it became difficulty climbing stairs and running..
Eventually the diagnosis was polymyositis...I rapidly lost the ability to walk and do anything for myself. After a lot of drugs and physiotherapy and 5 years on, I've moved to Switzerland and life is probably more normal than some people, but it was a shocking diagnosis from some lethargy and fluid retention.
Sometimes when we are in the peak of our lives, and think we're superwomen, life hits us right back.

Inflammation causes fluid retention. In my case, my immune system went a little bonkers and started attacking my own muscles, causing it to be very inflamed, but insidiously, without me knowing at first.

Anyway, don't want to scare you, but please just go see a doctor. I saw a few before they actually figured out that there was something wrong with me. My CK levels were through the roof >13,000 ( normal up to 300 ) by the time they believed me that something was wrong.
