Facebook Privacy: Site Confirms It Tracks You After You Leave

Saw this posted in another forum, rather interesting.

http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/fac...r#.T0P6T5iQb0f

So basically, if you use FB you probably need to either use another browser only to do FB, or constantly go in and delete their cookies, or live with the fact that they are tracking and recording your every online move

So what do you think, are you happy that they have such a massive amount of information about you and are tracking you even after leaving their site ?

Are you happy with the idea that they are free to sell this information to anyone they choose, making a profit off of you and exposing you to ads for products or services you have never asked for, or expected that your searches for information on ailments or other personal things would remain someone private ?

Personally, I'm waiting for the Germans to file the lawsuit over invasion of privacy like they did with Google maps. If pictures would cause that kind of reaction, this has got to generate some kind of reaction

Re: Facebook Privacy: Site Confirms It Tracks You After You Leave

I generally use my pc for playing online games (World of Warcraft and Star Wars TOR atm), browsing FB, EF and other forums and looking up recipes. Most of the recipes I look up, if they look interesting, I link them on FB anyhow so they're not learning much by "following" me.

Also, I have ads turned off, I have no idea if they're pinging me with targeted advertisements or not, I never see them.

Isn't it just spyware?

Amazing actually that the German government seems to be the only one that really cares about privacy.

Yesterday I heard that Google was recording your search histories if you are using Safari. grr!

I'd like to change search engines but I wonder if any of them are better. They all do the same really.

It doesn't. The lawsuits were brought by state (not federal) data privacy watchdogs.
