Re: Existing UK account for Non-residents

Well if anyone is interested....So far two Banks I have savings accounts with in the UK informed me that as I'm no longer resident in the UK they would close my accounts and deposit the balance in another Sterling account of my choosing.

The Banks in question are Egg and Ing

GREAT

P.s. Might it be time to move this thread back to the finance section?

Am I right in thinking that neither of them is a normal high street bank? Might explain why, because as previously stated normal banks[1] have no problem with no UK residency.

[1] RBS and Barclays, in our case.

Re: Existing UK account for Non-residents

I think you'll have trouble with online banking and I think both of those are? Unless you're in Spain and bank with RBS for some reason!

I use Lloyds and Halifax, no problem except with changing credit cards.
