Where are you going this weekend?

It seems like everyone is trying to take advantage of the long weekend. Where are you going? Where are you avoiding?

Ahhhh! We love Leukerbad! Do you think the roads will be free of snow?

Re: Where are you going this weekend?

I should think so... altho I heard they had some snow a day or two ago up Neuchatel way ( yes yes I know.. totally different direction ) so you never really know.

mrs. and I go the lazy way.. train and then poste bus.. leave the driving to them.

Re: Where are you going this weekend?

Choose carefully - as you know the weather forecast is terrible.

Why not go to another spa, at Val d'Illiez on the way to Champery, then back over to French Alps and back via small roads to Geneva and then over the Jura above Nyon- the Col du Marchairuz? But ... you won't get the usual amazing views perhaps.

V_ could it be - Leukerbad which is in the Valais, lol, aka Loèche-les-Bains for us Romands. Or Ovronnaz? Saillon (which is in the valley bottom so not so much fun/views).

There is one in VS with similar views like on the photos, it's quite large and nice but I forgot the name now...

Indeed, so I will work Friday, and just do things locally.

Re: Where are you going this weekend?

Vienna - only decided last night. And it's a good thing we did decide last night, I went to make the train reservations this morning and they are almost completely sold out. Great minds and all that....

Re: Where are you going this weekend?

Somewhere in 'les Grisons'/'Graubuenden' (live just outside Zurich). Would post a link to a very nice walk we're apparently going to do (6 adults + 8 kids), but when I tried it at work I found it was blocked' due to it being pornographic in nature! (it was the Swiss (Romande) friend who sent me the link!).

I shall be cooking cottage pie (shepherd's pie, but with beef instead of lamb) for dinner one night and doing bacon and egg sandwiches for everyone one lunchtime (getting up at the crack of dawn to do them in the morning).

I suppose we should take some board games / think of things to do in case the weather is bad.
