Would like to move to Australia/New Zealand....

Hello,

My Husband and I (along with our 10 month old) would like to try work and live in Australia. We just want to know how it is there such as; health insurance, finding a sponsored job as a skilled trade worker (painter & decorator), living expenses, life style...If anyone can give me a little bit of an idea or experiences that would be great. Or other websites that I can look at. I have read the other posts regarding Australia. It is nice to see others going to Australia.

Thank you!

Thanks, I will look. I have looked at some websites but forget to bookmark them and then can't find it again.

Assuming hubby speaks English, he should have no problem finding work even though things are slowing down a bit at the moment.
Public health system, Medicare, is brilliant by world standards. High living standards and anglo-saxon organisation has made Australia a highly attractive country. Combined with a liberal refugee and immigration policy has seen enormous numbers of immigrants in the last 20 or so years with a commensurate population boom. This has inflated prices in the major cities and Sydney is now a sprawling, expensive mess compared to 30 years ago but one can live in the bush for pretty much nothing.

Thanks Geno, Yes he speaks english. He has sent some resumes out. But just need to find an example of an Australian resume. Heard back from one and said it was slow. Which we kind of figured but that gives us time to figure things out. Also living in the city centre is not so important, at least I hope not. We are currently living in a small village at the moment and find it too small. So we'll see how things go.
