Re: Happy 4th of July !

In the US, even though it's the 5th it's still July 4th weekend.
Now if only Switzerland could do the same when the 1st also lands on a weekend. Which this year happens to be on Sunday.
Fat chance! Forget it.

You're lucky it's a free day when on a work-day, I remember working on August 1st. And wasn't that typical Swiss.

Me too. Then it was made a public holiday and rarely fell on a weekday.

That again was a subjective perception. Which we interestingly all suffered from.

For starters. It means we don't have to drive on the wrong side of the road.
Neither do the Canadians.

Re: Happy 4th of July !

Interesting that a large proportion of people who celebrate 4th of July in the US don't live in a state that got independence on 4th of July.

Interesting also that in America, "4th of July" falls on "July 4th"

Yeh! Considering that the Constitution didn't get signed until August.
