Shipping to US, will charge tax?

I will move to US soon. Yesterday I shipped a big box of my personal belongings to my furture employer's address. The post office lady asked me
to fill a custom declaration form. I wonder if I will be charged tax for shipping such things to the US? Should I make a notice somewhere that
these are my personal relocation stuff? Thanks.
