Do you find this comedy offensive?

An American friend sent me a link to a comedy skit.. warning me that I might burst my sides laughing .
Now clearly there must be a large cultural difference between what we find funny, because I was more offended if anything.

What do you think, is this material funny or an insult to your intelligence.

Neither really. I didn't find it offensive, but then it takes a lot to offend me.

I imagine that given better writing and acting, it might make "vaguely amusing".

Edit : Damn! There's a Poll. Had to plump for "Undecided", though I'm not really. You need a "Not funny, not offensive. (A bit like Canada really)" option. Though don't add it now, 'cos I already voted.

Didn't really find it funny at all (maybe I would have done at 15). It's a tired old format with an different subject matter.

And the scene where the guy punches his pregnant wife in the stomach? I don't want to get all Daily Mail about this but I'm just surprised that people could find this funny.

I didn't get that far. I lost interest at the first chloroforming. I though that was the punchline and left.

How do I change my vote again?

Well it's a bit shit, to be sure, and about ten time too long. Offensive? Not the word I'd use, but in very poor taste and insulting, certainly.

Funny, no. But then you already said it was an American who sent it <ducks>.

Nor did I. Didn't think it was the punchline, but couldn't stomach any more.

Re: Do you find this comedy offensive?

Some bits offensive, some not, one or two bits raised a slight smile, no giggles.
I agree Castro, the punch in the stomach was very disturbing.

I can see how it would appeal to some but like you when the pregnant lady was hit in the stomach - that is offensive.
Too much OTT in the other cases.

As a Canadian, I resent that. Canada humour has been proven time and time again to be hilarious!

The vid was boring, and predictable, so IMO unfunny. As for it being offensive, see the above note abuot being Canadian.

Why are funny and offensive mutually exclusive?

Re: Do you find this comedy offensive?

I voted "yes, hilarious" as it was closer to my actual thoughts of "mildly amusing but a bit studenty" than "No, offensive".

Basically, you've created a skewed poll. I assume you're pissed off because the product is much cheaper in the US than it is here in Switzerland.

I didn't find it particularly offensive, although I agree with others about the pregnant punch being OTT.

Once the joke had been made, though, they were trying too hard to milk it with an additional 2 minutes of film. The same joke, five times, isn't five times as funny. And it wasn't a particularly funny joke to start with.

Here in Switzerland they'd make you do it with a herbal tea...

After the first sketch it went all downhill. And why do you need it on the golf course?

Re: Do you find this comedy offensive?

I voted hilarious - which it wasn't - just mildly amusing - but I don't like voting (or being) indecisive ....... I think ....... or do I?

The style of humour is along the lines of what makes me laugh, but it wasn't very cleverly or subtly written.

If anyone saw Mickey Flanagan on Ch.4 last night - now, that was funny.
