Re: the cover thread

This popped up on You Tube while I was looking for something else.

A wonderful version of the Rolling Stones' Ruby Tuesday.

as a spin-off of the 'song of the day' thread, how about a 'cover of the day' thread?

criteria: covers that or as good or better than the original (in the posters humble opinion) or that show an original/unexpected take on the original.

maybe a good idea to mention the original artist in your post, might not always be evident.

Since I'm in a good mood, I'll start with a happy one: Seu Jorge covering David Bowie's Life on Mars? (from the movie A life aquatic):

much better Anggun's version, but the best is Tony Hadley's ...as usual
pity i can't send you the attachment here and it's not online...

Not my cup of tea....too slow...also the voice not my kind...I prefer Rod Stewart

mmmm...in my opinion this version doesn't work...from the rhytm to the banjos all around ...not to mention the vocals...
