Re: the cover thread

Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful" covered by Clem Snide. This man is a genius!

He also does an utterly heartbreaking version of I'll be your mirror (Velvet Underground). Not on youtube but luckily on his myspace site: http://www.myspace.com/clemsnide.
follow that link, trust me. Only cold-hearted people can listen through that entire song without at least thinking of shedding a tear.

I know, Cash was the Master Coverer when he grew old in my opinion. No one else could pull off covering Nick Cave or Bonnie Prince Billy and make you wonder which version you like better. Or this one, for that matter:

I love Newton Faulkner's cover of Massive Attack's Teardrop.

But his cover of Bohemian Rhapsody is also rather excellent.

Barbra.

hmm...not quite sure if a mash-up can be considered a cover, but here it is anywhere. Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing vs. Radiohead's High and Dry.

Re: the cover thread

I'm a covers junkie, I can't believe I've not posted to here before.

Some of my favorites:

Children of Bodom (extreme metal from Finland) doing Britney Spears' Oops I did it again:

I'm not a White Stripes fan, but they do a great version of Dolly Parton's Jolene (and until I saw this video, I assumed it was the chick singing it!):

Goldfinger doing Nena's 99 Red Balloons, in half English and half German

System of a Down doing Berlin's Metro:

And I can't believe that nobody's included Johnny Cash Hurt - he made that song truly his.
